Monoclonal Antibodies against Plant Viruses
It has been well established that monoclonal antibodies, since their initial description', play an important role on biological research . This technique has also been applied to studies on plant virus2·6> and this aspect was reviewed >. The basic characteristics of monoclonal antibodies are that (1) the antibody specifically reactive with one epitope can be obtained, (2) a hybridoma clone, onc...
متن کاملMonoclonal antibodies to 13-deoxy-gibberellins.
The production and characterization of two high affinity rat monoclonal antibodies to 13-deoxy-gibberellins is described. Hybrid myelomas were derived from rats immunized with an immunogenic keyhole limpet hemocyanin-gibberellin conjugate, linked at carbon-3 to gibberellin A(4) via a hemisuccinate bridge. The selected monoclonal antibodies were characterized by a competitive radioimmunoassay.
متن کاملMonoclonal antibodies against bovine growth hormone.
A number of mouse x mouse hybridomas producing monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) against bovine growth hormone (bGH) were prepared by fusion of spleen cells from bGH-primed mice (Balb/c) with non-secretory mouse myeloma cells (PAIOP3) and characterized. MAbs obtained from three fusion experiments belonged to IgM, IgG1 and IgG2b class/subclass of antibodies. Cross-reaction studies indicated that gene...
متن کاملEffects of photoperiod on growth rate and endogenous gibberellins in the long-day rosette plant spinach.
The earliest visible responses of spinach plants (Spinacia oleracea L., cv. Savoy Hybrid 612) transferred from short to long days (8 hours of high intensity light supplemented with 16 hours of low intensity illumination from incandescent lamps) were upright leaf orientation and increased elongation of the petioles. The effect of long days on growth rate was direct; i.e., there was no after-effe...
متن کاملDo monoclonal antibodies recognize linear sequential determinants?
A group of 19 anti-class II monoclonal antibodies produced in different laboratories were tested in ELISA for their ability to bind to a panel of synthetic peptides selected from HLA-DQ alpha and beta chains. No one of the antibodies tested was found to react with the synthetic fragments, thus confirming the common finding that MoAbs generally fail to recognize fragments of the native antigen. ...
